'Awake Like a Dream'
Acrylic and oil on canvas (framed in Tasmanian Oak)
60cm x 50cm
'Awake Like a Dream' was inspired by the textures of materials that may be incorporated into an interior space; marble, timber, metal and wanted to explore different textures as well as interplays of light and dark. I don't usually use a lot of black paint in my paintings but wanted the pieces to feel at home in the Home Base Space which features a lot of black detailing. In the end, incorporating black into the artwork gave it a bit of drama and the piece reminds me of an aerial view of storm water crashing onto rocks.
This piece is currently in my studio in Magill, South Australia and can be arranged to view by appointment via the details below.
