'Awake Like a Dream'

'Awake Like a Dream' was inspired by the textures of materials that may be incorporated into an interior space; marble, timber, metal and wanted to explore different textures as well as interplays of light and dark. I don't usually use a lot of black paint in my paintings but wanted the pieces to feel at home in the Home Base Space which features a lot of black detailing. In the end, incorporating black into the artwork gave it a bit of drama and the piece reminds me of an aerial view of storm water crashing onto rocks.
