Painted from photographs I had taken at Mossman River in Queensland, ‘Secret Pool’ was an exploration of dappled light and reflections. It was also an investigation into working with a limited colour palette, demonstrating how colour can play on various surfaces- rock, water and forest landscapes. The permanence of large boulders to create these natural pools that have no doubt been a sanctuary for many over the years.
